Hi.
It's so nice to meet you.
My name is Kristen and I'm so happy that you're here.
Now, you could be here for a couple of different reasons.
Perhaps you met me on linkedin and you saw about my love of the mummy or maybe you read one of my newsletters or listened to a podcast or maybe you got directed to my website by a friend who thought that I could help you.
That happens quite a bit.
But what normally happens is that people are terrified and they aren't sure how to talk to me or how to reach out.
And so this is a way for us to have a version of a strategy session uh with less terror.
Hopefully.
So this is me, this is my little corner of the web and this up here, the statement we are already worthy.
This is my core belief.
I believe that we are worthy already just as we are.
You might often hear that you're not quite ready to be promoted or to make a certain amount of money or to be able to work remotely or you haven't gained that trust to be able to leave in the middle of day and pick up your kids and work later on.
Right.
But I think that is a bunch of bull, I believe that you're already worthy just as you are.
And because we are already inherently worthy, we deserve work that is fulfilling and it pays well.
It should not come with doses of toxicity and trauma and we deserve to have that time with our families to have flexible schedules and to have rest.
Because what is the point of life then? Right.
So that is my guiding principle.
And then I believe that as we do this work together because even though you might listen to the statement and say yes, we are worthy, I don't need to do anything else, right? To be worthy.
But then oftentimes when we start this work, folks are, oh, let's say they have some internalized beliefs about how they're supposed to be and what's allowed to happen.
And so we do this work where we reorient our relationship to work, we separate our worth from work.
We no longer think that our productivity is the measure of who we are as people.
And then we reimagine what our lives could look like if we're not always thinking that way.
And then we're given this great opportunity to remake the world because things are not quite working the way that they are.
So this is about me and this is why I do the work and perhaps why someone sent you over to me.
And essentially, I'm gonna start a virtual strategy session with you where I'm gonna walk through a little bit of uh who I help and how and uh in what ways you could possibly work with me and why I came to this work to begin with and then how we can keep this conversation going.
So let's dive in.
So I have four main groups of people, pivots, job seekers, leaders and business builders.
So pivots are people who are trying to change careers, using transferable skills and work experience.
They do not want to start over from the beginning.
And so they're looking to work in this new field without getting a new degree without starting over from the bottom.
Ideally, they don't get a demotion in title and not a pay cut of any kind.
Now, job seekers are people who are very traditional candidates.
They are looking for a role in their industry, maybe they're looking for the next step in their career progression, maybe they've been laid off.
And so they really just want to do the same kind of thing they were doing.
Leaders are folks, either they are self-employed or working within an organization or working on some sort of side or passion project.
And they're looking to step more into their leadership with whatever they're doing.
And then my business builders are folks who are either starting their own business or they are building something that's existing and they need some sort of support in that business building.
So now how am I helping them with what exactly? So changing industries, finding a job building your first business, reimagining your life, stepping into your leadership.
So, of those, the reimagining your life, let's say things are really hard.
You aren't getting to spend the time that you want with your kids, with your partner.
You aren't getting to the, the gym anymore because work is just taking up all your time.
Maybe you woke up one day and realized that you are doing what your parents wanted you to do and not what you wanted to do.
There's lots of different reasons why you would want to reimagine your life.
You know how this could look for different people.
So let's say for a pivot, what they might need to do first is reimagine their life because they can tell things aren't quite working, but they're not sure exactly why or what they could change or what else they can do.
And then after they've done that work, they realize, oh, my gosh, I should change industries.
This is not the right fit for the life.
I want to live anymore.
And then after they do that and they make the transition, they might need some help stepping into their leadership within that new field or that new organization.
Mhm.
It could also look like, you know, you need to change industries, you're ready to go we do it and then maybe an unfortunate layoff causes that job to come to an end quickly.
And so you have to find something else and then maybe in the new thing, now, this is your second job post pivot and you're really ready to step into your leadership.
And maybe you do and realize that you create the same problem that you originally came from.
So you really need to reimagine your life, what you want it to look like, what you wanna be doing so that you can live the life that you imagine.
Now who could be a pivot? This has grown so much over the past couple of years used to be just a pivot was a person who was gonna change industries.
You were gonna go from theater to education or from health care to software.
But now folks really consider you a pivot mentally how they approach you in your resume for so many different reasons.
So here are some examples if you pivoted previously and now you're pivoting again into something else new or you already made the pivot.
And this is your first role after the pivot.
I work with a lot of folks in that category or if you're becoming a director for the first time that in many, many ways is becoming a, a pivot of sorts.
And then if you were in person and you want to go to remote, that often is also approached like a pivot So the way that folks are thinking about those in the workforce and those seeking jobs is very different than it used to be.
So how do I help folks? I have these five systems, these five coaching systems that I've developed the pivot process, the job seeking system, build your own table space to create and creation and action.
So probably makes sense.
Pivot process is for p pivots job seeking system for job seekers, build your own table for people who are starting their own businesses.
No space to create is all about iag your life because that's my philosophy on how you do it is by giving yourself the room to do something new and then creation and action is my leadership framework.
So now how I do this, how these are delivered, I work in either three month coaching packages on whatever framework you want to operate in.
And of course, if we're working on the pivot process framework, and it seems like we need to add a little space to create in, we will do that within your existing package or say we're in the job seeking system and we discover you're really a pivot, we would just switch systems within that same package.
Of course, if you discovered it in the last week, that might be a problem.
But for the most part, it is very clear, very early that perhaps someone their original intention has changed.
The other option is that I do month to month coaching on people's specific problems.
So there's no commitment beyond one month, we'll work on whatever it is that you need to work on.
We work on that within clarity flow, which is the program right now that you're seeing this video and we work through whatever you want and you might get aspects of each framework as we do the work because it's relevant or it could be completely personalized and specific to you.
But the coaching in either the uh coaching package framework or the month to month, coaching is all personalized and individual to you and your individual needs.
So now who am I? That is a great question.
Uh Clearly a weirdo, right? So hopefully we got that out of the way pretty quickly.
So in the first picture, you see me uh bending Steele with Kanae at our undergraduate institution.
And I went to college thinking I wanted to be a teacher and then I had my own internship and went out to a school district that was getting taken over by the state for uh assessment score reasons.
And it was a disaster and I ran out of the school and said I need to go find something else.
I would be not a good teacher.
And so then I went to theater, I went to grad school for theater, became a stage manager, was a freelance stage manager for a while while I was doing that.
Of course, though, you can't just do that and eat.
So I did stints in bookkeeping and architectural lighting.
I worked in a quality management utilization management area at a medical group.
I was a liaison with pharmaceutical reps.
I of course, did you know tech and stage management and lighting and loadings and photography, which is the next picture.
This picture here of James Earl Jones meeting an audience member after a show that he did and then eventually I really wanted to have insurance.
So I decided that I would try to get a more regular job.
And this is where it really got wild with the pivots and the side steps and the pivots all leading up to this little tiny human.
Here, you see my bean and of course, there's, I have the deep love pets.
This picture here with my honey cat who passed away a few years ago.
But, um, when I made that, uh, first pivot from being a freelancer to having a full time job at a theater, my freelance friends wanted to know how I did it.
And so I helped them and I helped and helped and helped and helped many, many, many, many times over.
And it was, you know, around the time the pandemic started and folks needed help leaving their industries.
I had been laid off from my university job that I had worked really hard to pivot into.
And I, uh, helped a lot of people with pandemic pivots trying to find work that they could do in the interim while their fields were shut down.
And then as we started to move into the great resignation, someone asked me if I would do some executive coaching with them.
I had done executive coaching at my uh previous job.
So I said, sure I can do that.
And through our executive coaching, we discovered that the person really needed to pivot.
So I just moved her into my pivot process because I had a pretty good system in place.
And that was it.
And after that, everything took off, that lovely individual referred me to many, many, many of her friends.
And so I was able to start testing my systems in very quick succession on lots of people which has really helped to refine them.
So that's me.
I love cake.
I love books.
I'm very silly.
I really, really believe in possibility.
I call myself the possibility, first name by a very good friend who saw that in me.
And I believe that there is so many ways that we can achieve what it is that we desire when we open ourselves up to possibility.
The absolute best way to get a sense of what it would be like to work with me is to check out my results page.
So you can see here at the top.
These are off the cuff comments that folks have made to me working with.
Chris is truly a gift to myself, I can truly live and feel I have lived well.
You are a blessing to the world and just really wonderful feedback that warms my heart.
It's so nice to hear these things.
So if you scroll through the results page, you can see from pivots great video here from Sarah, such a gem to do this for me.
And then all my wonderful pivot clients here at the top that you can see and hear about their individual experience with more folks, testimonials getting added all the time and then into job seekers.
So these were people who were looking for work in their current industries and uh you can see their different feedback down to my leaders, folks that I worked with uh not on a career change or uh finding a new job, but within their current work in some way, they need some support.
And then these are my folks who are business builders who needed some support inside their organizations.
So this is a great place to hear exactly what it's like to work with me and how I can help you.
Now, we're gonna get a little bit meta because I'm gonna use clarity flow to show you how to do clarity flow.
So I want to hear what's going on with you.
What's your current situation? Whether you found me on the internet or we interacted in a group or one of our mutual friends or a former client or a current client referred you to me.
I'd love to know what is going on with you.
Why are you thinking that you would, might need a Kristen, a work and birth coach? So, what I want you to do is scroll down past where you're watching this video and you're gonna see this big blue button and then you're gonna hit it and you're gonna be able to respond back to me in any kind of way that you want to.
So you can either do a screen share with the mic and you might go to your linkedin profile and talk over something or maybe you want to talk directly to the camera, right? Or maybe think um I didn't do my hair today and I am not doing my hair for this one.
So I'm just gonna turn the mic on and talk directly to her, right? You can do that as well or you could just start a text message with me right? Where you can see you can combine any of these options together.
So let's say I'm gonna say hi.
Um my friend Bob said you could help me get a new less terrible job, ok? So then you hit the send message, then it's gonna ask you to fill out your name and your email address, that way I can communicate back and forth with you in the platform.
So you wanna fill that out your full name, your email address and send the message and then I can respond back to you.
So, of course, my friend here in the example is not giving me a lot of information.
I prefer more.
I would love to know, uh, if this was you, when you were filling this out, I would probably know who Bob is.
Right.
Uh, but new, less terrible job.
I'd want to know.
What's your current, terrible job? And why is it so terrible? And how long have you been there? And, uh, what makes it terrible? And what else could we, uh, what else could we do if you've had any ideas? Sometimes people don't have any ideas about what's next and that's totally fine.
But sometimes people kind of have an idea and so it's useful to know.
So that's what I would love for you to do is to scroll down below this video.
Hit that button, start that conversation with me and then put in your name and your email address so that I can talk back to you.
And I'm really, really looking forward to it and thanks so much for watching and reaching out
